PRIDEFEST PARADE
The Pridefest Parade is a very welcoming parade for local Democrats. Candidate’s will be joining us. The parade is one day before Early Voting and can have an enormous impact for Election 2024.
October 20 from 1 to 4 pm
Meet at 1 pm to decorate golf carts/assemble bags with spectator handouts. Staging area is located on 26th Street near the back of the Railroad Museum.
Parade is from 2 to 3 pm going down Mechanic Street from 25th to 20th Street, then to Strand from 20th to 25th Street. Carts go back to staging area and we undecorate from 3 to 4 pm. Early dinner or snacks at a restaurant near parade?
- Provide Golf Cart
- Decorate carts and walk in the parade
- Decorate carts and ride in a golf cart in the parade (must have a firm number to ensure there are enough seats available – deadline to register for golf cart seat is Sunday, October 13)

CANDIDATE SIGNAGE AT ISLAND POLLING SITES
GID would like to provide a much-needed service to our candidates. and need your help. Candidates need their campaign signs placed at the various early voting/election day voting poll sites on the Island.
- Provide a short-term storage area (garage) beginning October 15 for candidate’s yard signs.
- Volunteer to ‘adopt’ an Island polling place. You would pick up candidate’s sign from the short-term storage and place at the Island polling site of your choice.
- Pick up yard signs after the election (after 7 pm on November 5 or any time on November 6).
POLL GREETERS
Looking for volunteers available to work 2 to 4 hour shifts during early voting and election day to greet and pass out ballot cards to interested voters as they enter their polling site. You choose the polling site, day(s), and time(s).

RIDESHARE2VOTE
Interested in providing car rides to non-driving voters? GID utilizes the expertise of RIDESHARE2VOTE whose program is dedicated to assuring voters can get to the polls to vote.
The link below has all the information you need to join RIDESHARE2VOTE. They have several volunteer opportunities; HOWEVER, training is required. When voting begins, RIDESHARE2VOTE will serve as a dispatcher for Island and Off Island drivers.
