November 5, was a hard pill to swallow.
However, Harris-Walz carried Galveston Island 50.59%.
Our commitment to Democracy is strong. Galveston Island Democrats have proven we can work together for change. UNITED – we will continue to do so.
GID subscribes to the daily online report LoneStarLeft written by Michelle H. Davis. I’d like to quote some from today’s issue:
“Today is a day to grieve – everyone will need time to express shock, anger, and fear. Respect those who need to talk about what happened and those who don’t. Everyone will need to process the results in their own way.
Tomorrow is when we prepare – we’ll regroup, realign, and find new ways to protect our communities and our values. The path forward won’t be easy, but we’ve faced dark moments before and know how to rise stronger.”
Please surround yourself with like-minded people and continue to work with Galveston Island Democrats as we move forward. We have our work cut out for us and TOGETHER we can make a difference.
